Dear Lucinda,

Thank you for your detailed response to our draft proposal consultation. I’m also grateful to you for the time you gave me individually as well as for contributing at our public exhibition more recently.

Your comments are very clear and fair.

We will use these comments along with those of other contributors to help improve our draft proposals now. In the first instance we will collate and share the feedback that we have received from our neighbours and the wider community. We will incorporate this learning into our developing ideas over the coming weeks. We would then like to have the opportunity to re-present our proposals to demonstrate how we have adapted and improved our plans. I would hope to be able to do this in around a month from now.

In brief response to some of the queries in your feedback:

During development phase it would be essential that the improved (and approved) long term access route was installed first before any significant construction works could take place. Together with signage and the management of the contractor, this would ensure that construction traffic followed the appropriate route. It would also ensure that the potential impacts of construction works, ie mud on roads, dust etc were addressed properly.

The day to day use of the farm access on Crocker’s Hill could potentially be limited right down to foot traffic only, if that was felt to be all that was acceptable. From a safety perspective, we would wish to maintain a locked vehicular gate that could be accessed by emergency services in the event of a fire.

Our existing drive, which you share use of, would not form any part of the day to day operation of the property, neither vehicular nor pedestrian. We would look to close this off with either a locked gate or potentially even hedging. So long as it remains in our ownership we would of course be responsible for maintaining it.

I trust this is helpful.

Yours sincerely

Paul
